Pattern VEP (Visually Evoked Potentials) Normal Values

Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to find normal valuesof pattern visually evoked potentials (VEP) in the electrophysi- ology laboratory of our clinic. Methods: Visually evoked response test was performed in 140eyes of 70 healthy subj ects with full visual acuity. Results wereevaluated in 3 age groups (8 19, 20 39, 40 and above). Pat- tern VEP test was used to record 2 different-sized patterns inorder to identify different levels of visual acuity. Latency andamplitude values were recorded of N75 and P 100 waves forboth patterns. Results: In our study, average latency value of N75 wavein PVEP 1º pattern was 7 1.25±5.24 ms for the 8 19 group,69.56±4. 18 ms for the 20 39 group, and 7 1.74±5.42 ms for the40 and above group. Average latency value of P 100 wave with1º pattern was 104.86±4.04 ms for the 8 19 group, 100.5±3.52ms for the 20 39 group, and 105.32±7. 14 ms for the 40 andabove group. Average amplitude value of N75-P 100 wave with1º pattern was 20.5±7.42 µV for the 8 19 group, 11.27±3.52 µVfor the 20 39 group, and 10.08±4. 12 µV for the 40 and abovegroup. Conclusion: We identified normal values of PVEP test in theelectrophysiology laboratory of our clinic. Results were ana- lyzed for the 3 different age groups, and the study was com- pleted by identifying the effects of latency, amplitude, gender,and analyzed eye to the study.

Amaç: Kliniğimiz elektrofizyoloji laboratuvarında uygula- nan desen görsel uyarılmış yanıt (pattern VEP) testi normaldeğerlerinin bulunması amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Sağlıklı ve görme keskinliği tam olan, 70normal hastanın 140 gözüne desen görsel uyarılmış yanıttesti uygulandı. Sonuçlar üç yaş grubu halinde (8 19; 20 39;40 ve üzeri yaş) değerlendirildi. Pattern VEP (PVEP) testi iledeğişik düzeylerdeki görme keskinliğini objektif olarak sap- tamak için iki farklı büyüklükteki desenle kayıt alındı. Her ikidesen için N75 ve P100 dalgalarının latans ve amplitüd de- ğerleri kaydedildi. Bulgular: Çalışmamızda PVEP 1° desenindeki N75 dalgasınınortalama latans değeri 8 19 yaş aralığı için 71.25±5.24 ms,20 39 yaş aralığı için 69.56±4.18 ms, 40 ve üzeri yaş grubu için71.74±5.42 ms idi. 1°lik desenle elde edilen P100 dalgasınınortalama latans değeri 8 19 yaş için 104.86±4.04 ms, 20 39yaş için 100.5±3.52 ms, 40 ve üzeri yaş için 105.32±7.14 ms idi.1°lik desenle elde edilen N75-P100 dalgasının ortalama ampli- tüd değeri 8-19 yaş için 20.5±7.42 µV, 20 39 yaş için 11.27±3.52µV, 40 ve üzeri yaş için 10.08±4.12 µV olarak ölçüldü. Sonuç: Kliniğimiz elektrofizyoloji laboratuvarında uygu- lanan PVEP testi normal değerleri kendi özgün ortamındabelirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar üç farklı yaş grubu için değerlendi- rilmiş, latans ve amplitüd değerleri cinsiyet ve ölçüm yapılan göz değişkenlerinin teste olan etkisi belirlenerek çalışmatamamlanmıştır.
