Treatment of Conjunctival Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia With Photodynamic Therapy

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical resultsof treatment of squamous neoplasia of the conj unctiva withphotodynamic therapy. A 28-year-old male presented withery thema and a swollen mass in his right eye. We performeda biopsy, which showed squamous cell carcinoma. The squa- mous cell carcinoma was subsequently treated with photody- namic therapy. The follow-up time was 12 months. Four weeksafter treatment, biomicroscopic evaluation showed normal- appearing conj unctiva and cornea with resolution of tumortissue. Photodynamic therapy may be a viable alternativetreatment therapy in squamous neoplasia of the conj unctiv.

Konjonktivanın skuamöz hücreli karsinomunda fotodinamiktedavi sonucu değerlendirildi. Sağ gözündeki kırmızı, kaba- rık bir kitleden şikayet eden 28 yaşındaki erkek hastaya nazalkonjontivadan yapılan tanısal biyopsi örneğinin histopato- lojik incelemesinde skuamöz hücreli karsinom gelmesi ne- deniyle fotodinamik tedavi uygulandı ve 12 ay takip edildi.Tedaviden dört hafta sonraki biomikroskopik muayenedetümörün rezolüsyonu ile birlikte normal görünümde kon- jonktiva ve kornea izlendi. Konjonktivanın skuamöz hücrelikarsinomunda fotodinamik tedavi alternatif bir tedavi yöntemi olabilir.
