Abstract

The 2 most common causes of anterior cervical bony out- growths are diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) andankylosing spondylitis (AS). These osteophytes have been asso- ciated with serious complications. The aim of the present reportwas to highlight how commonly occurring anterior cervical os- teophytes may become an uncommon cause of life-threateningdysphagia and potential lung aspiration in elderly patients..

Özet

Anterior servikal kemik çıkıntıların en sık iki nedeni diffüz idi- opatik iskelet hiperostosis (DISH) ve ankilozan spondilittir(AS). Bu osteofitler ciddi komplikasyonlar ile ilişkili olmuştur.Bu olgu sunumunun amacı, yaygın anterior servikal osteo- fitlerin nedeni ile oluşan yaşamı tehdit eden disfaji ve yaşlıhastalarda akciğer aspirasyonu için düşük potansiyel nedenioluşturması vurgulanmıştır.
