Evaluation of Medication Compliance in Patients with Heart Failure

Objective: Non-compliance with medical treatment is a common problem in individuals with heart failure (HF). This study was conducted to evaluate medication compliance and influencing factors in patients with heart failure. Methods: The study was conducted with 114 patients who were treated in the cardiology clinic and outpatient clinics of a training and research hospital between July and September 2019. The study data were collected using the Patient Information Form and the Medication Adherence Report Scale (MARS). Results: The average age of the patients participating in the study was 66.98±12.23 years, and the average duration of medication use was 12.98±7.66 years. Of the participants, 52.6% were female, 85.1% were married, and nearly half (45.6%) were primary school graduates. The total score of the patients on MARS was 21.87±3.06.
