Sarıkamış Peoples House (1937-1951)

Abstract

People's Houses were established on February 19, 1932. Their main purpose was to explain the reforms and intellectual aspects of the newly established state to the public to strengthen the future of regime. People's Houses undertook two missions, the first is to provide the education of the people, the second is to reveal the history, culture and sociological richness of every corner of the country. For this purpose, Kars People’s House was opened on February 24,1933 and after that Iğdır People’s House was opened on February 24,1934. Later, on February 25, 1937, Kağızman and Sarıkamış People’s Houses were established and started their activities. They carried out their activities by opening People’s Houses in the other districts of Kars such as Ardahan, Tuzluca and Arpaçay and opening folk houses in villages. Five branches were established under the name of Sarıkamış People’s House, these are; Sports, Peasantry, Social Aid, Library and Representation Branch. Sarıkamış People’s House has carried out effective studies in line with the objectives determined in the district centre and its villages.

Halkevleri 19 Şubat1932 yılında kuruldu. Bunların amacı yeni kurulan devletin ve yapılan İnkılâpların fikri yönünü halka anlatmak ve rejimin geleceğini sağlamlaştırmaktı. Halkevleri iki misyon üstlendi, birincisi halkın eğitimini sağlamak ikincisi ülkenin her köşesinin tarihini, kültürünü ve sosyolojik zenginliklerini ortaya çıkarmak. Bu amaçla 24 Şubat 1933’te Kars Halkevi ardından 23 Şubat 1934’te Iğdır Halkevi açıldı. Daha sonra 25 Şubat 1937’de Kağızman ve Sarıkamış Halkevi kurularak faaliyetlerine başladı. Kars’ın diğer kazaları olan Ardahan, Tuzluca ve Arpaçay’da da halkevleri ve köylerde halkodaları açılarak faaliyetlerini yürüttüler. Sarıkamış Halkevi, Spor, Köycülük, Sosyal Yardım, Kütüphane ve Temsil Şubesi adı altında beş şube oluşturuldu. Sarıkamış Halkevi kaza merkezinde ve köylerinde belirlenen amaçlar doğrultusunda etkili çalışmalar yapmıştır
