Abstract

In a 33-year-old male patient, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated cranialmulticentric epidermoid cyst and rupture of the cysts. Dermoid cysts are extremely rareinclusion cysts constituting less than 0.5 % of all primary intracranial tumors. Most of themare asymptomatic. Multicentric type of dermoid cysts have been reported very rarely in theliterature. Most of these cysts are asymptomatic. Hormonal changes with age can increase theglandular secretions resulting in the rupture of rapidly enlarging cysts. Magnetic resonanceimaging displays the typical findings of rupture. There has been only one case of multicentricdermoid cyst reported in the literature until now.

Özet

33 yaşında erkek olguda magnetik rezonans görüntülemede (MRG) multisentrik dermoid kistve bu kistlerin rüptürü gözlenmiştir. Dermoid kistler ekstrem derecede nadir inklüzyonkistleridir ve primer intrakranial tümerlerin %0,5 inden azını oluşturur.çoğunluklaasemptomatiktir. Dermoid kistlerin multisentirik olabildiklerine ait literatürde çalışma çoknadirdir. Çoğunlukla asemptomatiktir. Yaş ile ilişkili hormonal değişikler glandülersekresyonlarda artışa neden olabilir ve hızlı genişleme nedeniyle bu kistler rüptüre olabilirler.Rüptür sonucu manyetik rezonans görüntülemede (MRG) tipik bulgular oluşturmaktadır.Literatürde multisentrik dermoid kist bizim olgumuz dışında bir adet olguda tanımlanmıştır.
