Today, one of the important issues of contemporary social policies is the gathering of disabled individuals. It is up to all members of the society to make disabled people a part of the business life according to their disability, abilities and interests rather than living dependent on the state and other people. Günümüzde, çağdaş sosyal politikaların en önemli konularından biri de engelli bireylerin topluma kazandırılmasıdır. Engelli bireylerin devletin sunduğu imkânlara ve çevresindeki kişilere bağımlı olarak yaşaması yerine toplum içerisinde yer alması, engel durumları, yetenekleri ve ilgi alanlarına göre istihdam edilerek iş hayatının bir parçası olması için tüm toplum üyelerine görevler düşmektedir Bu çalışma; down kafelerde çalışan down sendromlu bireylerin performansının işletmelerce değerlendirilmesini amaçlayan bir araştırmadır. Eylül 2019-Ocak 2020 tarihleri arasında yürütülmüş olup, ülkemizde down sendromlu bireylerin istihdamına yönelik hizmet veren 31 adet yiyecek içecek işletmesinden araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü 28 yiyecek içecek işletmesi araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır.
