Manangement of Endotracheal Intubation in Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19 Patients

Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been described as a novel coronaviruscausing a pandemic of the novel corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19). It is highly contagious and the maintransmission way is respiratory droplets and close contact with contaminated surfaces. The aerosol generatingprocedures caries additional risk for healthcare workers. Since endotracheal intubation is a vulnerableprocedure for aerosol generation, the airway manangement of suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients ishigh risk to staff and patient In this review we aimed to highlight the important points for the safe and effectiveendotracheal intubation procedure for suspected or confırmed COVID-19 patients.
