Abstract

Serious injury to the optic nerve is an uncommon complication of the cranium fractures. Approximately 5% of all patients with head trauma manifest an injury to some portion of the visual system. Occasionally it is due to rever¬sible changes. This case illustrated the importance of early decompression of the orbital fractures.
