Abstract
Trisomy 13 is an extremely rare and the third most common trisomy disorder. Multiple malformations, especially midline abnormalities are frequent. In this report, a 36 year-old patient gravida 3, para 2 is presented at 25 weeks of gestation diagnosed with trisomy 13. The abnormalities demonstrated by sonography of our case included Dandy-Walker syndrome, microcephaly, anophthalmia, absence of the nose, postaxial polydactyly in the right foot, polycystic kidneys, single umbilical artery. The amniotic fluid volume was normal. Therefore, cordocentesis was performed and the fetal cord blood was sent for karyotyping. Karyotype of the fetus was 47,XY, +13. After the counseling about prognosis, the parents chose to terminate the pregnancy. Postpartum examination of the fetus confirmed all the findings except for the proboscis and postaxial polydactyly in left foot.
