Abstract

Pregnancy and the postpartum period carry increased risk for women to develop mood disorders. Although the risks of drug therapy are known in pregnancy, in some of psychiatric diseases the use of psychotropic medications in necessary for both maternal and fetal health. The reproductive safety data on antidepressant use during pregnancy have rapidly expanded over the last decade. Recent research on the use of SSRIs suggests that they are relatively safe for both the mother an fetus during pregnancy. We report on three cases treated during pregnancy with SSRI.
