Malignant melanoma metastatic to the ovary: A case report

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To present a case of metastatic malignant melanoma of the ovary with review of the current literature.CASE: A 40-year-old women with the diagnosis of malign melanoma went through explorative laparotomy due to left adnexial mass. Left salpingo-oophorectomy and wedge resection from the right ovary because of a dark brown solid lesion was performed. The pathological report was competible with left mucinous cysyadenoma and metastasis of malignant melanoma to the right ovary.RESULTS: Malignant melanoma metastatic to the ovary should be considered in the differential diagnosis of any patient who presents with an adnexal mass and has a history of malignant melanoma.

AMAÇ: Metastatik over tümörleri içinde ender olarak görülen malign melanomalı bir olguyu literatür eşliğinde gözden geçirmek.OLGU: Kırk yaşında, bir yıl önce malign melanoma tanısı alan hastaya sol adneksiyel kitle nedeniyle eksploratif laparatomi uygulandı. Sol salpingo-ooforektomi yapılan hastada sağ overde koyu kahverengi solid kitle saptanması nedeniyle "wedge" rezeksiyon uygulandı. Patoloji sonucu, sol overde müsinöz kistadenom ve sağ overde metastatik malign melanoma ile uyumluydu.SONUÇ: Malign melanoma öyküsü olan hastalarda adneksiyel kitle ayırıcı tanısında malign melanom metastazı da düşünülmelidir.
