Abstract

Lateral and vertical fusion defects of Müllerian and Wolffian ducts occur at a rate of 0.2% during embryonic development around fifth gestational week. Most of these patients have a history of infertility, premature delivery or spontaneous abortion (40 %). Additionally, renal abnormalities may be seen in these cases since renal and reproductive systems arise from the same embryologic mesonephric origin. In the presenting case, we operated the patient due to an abdominal mass. The mass composed of unicornuate uterus that did not complete its migration and lateral fusion and an ovary. Histological examination revealed a detectable cavity and endometrial tissue inside the mass. The patient had a history of uncomplicated pregnancy and live birth from the contralateral unicornuate uterus and ovary. The patient also had a renal anomaly.
