A case with neonatal hepatitis: The rose imipenem

Abstract
Imipenem treatment was started in a premature baby with prolonged rupture of membranes who foced sepsis in the 15th day of life. At the follow up cholestatic hepatitis developed and liver biopsy revealed neonatal hepatitis. When imipenem treatment was stopped, liver function tests declined to normal levels. Differantial diagnosis of cholestatic hepatitis was made. Since toxic hepatitis due to imipenem treatment is rather rare, this case is decided to be presented.
Özet
Prcmatiırite ve erken membran rüptürü tanıları ile izlediğimiz olguda 15. Günde sepsis bulgularının saptanması nedeniyle imipenem sağaltımına başlandı. Başlangıçta gözlenmeyen kolestatik hepatit bulgularının gelişimi üzerine alınan karaciğer biyopsisi neonatal hepatit ile uyumlu bulundu. İmipenem sağaltımının kesilmesiyle karaciğer fonksiyon testlerinde gerileme izlendi. Kolestatik hepatit yönünden ayırıcı tanı yapılan olguda nadiren bildirilen imipenem sağaltımına bağlı toksik hepatit gelişimi düşünüldüğünden ilginç bulunarak bulundu.
