Malign squamous differantiation with ovarian mature cystic teratoma

Abstract

Mature cystic teratoma is the most prevalent form of ovarian teratomas and the most common germ cell tumor. Malign transformation is an unusual complication of mature cystic teratomas and accounts for 1-2 %. All tissues forming the mature cystic teratoma may show malign transformation. We present a patient with a MCTO(Mature cystic teratoma of the ovary) where malignant transformation is differentiated squamous carcinoma.A 50 year old , postmenapausal patient was diagnosed to have mature cystic teratoma after physically and radiological examination .The frozen section of the cystic material excised during laparotomy was diagnosed to be malignant.After this, intra abdominal aspiration sampling was made for cytologic assesment , Total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpyngooferectomy, omentectomy and appendectomy was applied.The pathology result was mature cystic teratoma showing malignant squamous differantiation.

Özet

Matür kistik teratom, over teratomlarının en sık olanıdır ve aynı zamanda germ hücrelerinden en sık köken alan tümördür. Malign değişim matür kistik teratomların alışılmadık bir komplikasyonudur ve olguların %1-2'sinde görülür. Matür kistik teratomda bulunan dokular herhangi bir malign değişim gösterebilir.Biz malign squmöz diferansiasyonu gösteren overin matür kistik teratomu olgusunu sunuyoruz.50 yaşındapostmenopozal dönemde olan hasta fizik ve radyolojik inceleme sonrası matür kistik teratom tanısı aldı. Laparatomi sırasında çıkarılan kistin frozen incelemesi malign olarak geldi. Bunun üzerine hastayaTAH+BSO+OMENTEKTOMİ+ APPENDEKTOMİ + BATIN ASPİRASYONU uygulandı. Patoloji sonucu malign squamöz diferansiasyon gösteren matür kistik teratom olarak geldi.
