Usage of possibilities of agricultural wastes as concrete aggregate

Abstract

In this study it is examined the mechanical properties of the light materials with cement building materials produced by using peanut shell light aggregate on the basis of the aggregate amount used. It is aimed to produce a building material with heat resistance, low density, mechanical properties at a suitable level by using the. peanut shell light aggregate. The peanut shell obtained from the plants grown in Adana province in the Mediterranean region were used as light aggregate. As a result of the experiments it is seen that peanut aggregate can be used as a building material. This material can be used not only as a building plate but also within the particle plate industry. Today the natural sources decreases day by day and using the agricultural products in the particle plate production industry shall be a good solution for the material supplies. The peanut shells are granulated used for composites and mixing with the resins used for the binding process in order to increase the resistance and as a filling material. Gaining the building materials obtained from the agricultural wastes by considering the needs of today shall enable healthy, economical and cost effective solutions for the consumers, country economics arid the farmers. Annual agricultural products are cheap, easy to raw material sours can be produced again and used in several different areas.

Bu çalışmada yerfıstığı hafif agregası kullanılarak üretilen çimento bağlayıcılı hafif malzemenin değişen agrega miktarına bağlı olarak mekanik mukavemetleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada yerfıstığı kabuğu hafif agregası ile ısıl direnci yüksek, birim hacim ağırlığı düşük, mekanik mukavemetleri yeterli düşeyde olan bir yapı malzemesini üretebilmek amaçlanmıştır. Hafif agrega olarak Akdeniz bölgesi Adana ilinden elde edilen yerfıstığı bitkisinin kabukları kullanılmıştır. Yapılan deneyler sonucunda yerfıstığı agregasının yapı malzemesi olarak yapı endüstrisine kazandırılabileceği görülmüştür. Bugünün gereksinmelerine göre, tarımsal atıklardan üretilen yapı malzemelerinin piyasaya kazandırılması, hem tüketici, hem ülke ekonomisi, hem de tarım üreticileri için kalıcı, sağlıklı ve ekonomik çözümler oluşturacaktır.
