Congenital polydactylia case encountered in an English foal

Abstract
In this study, an abnormality observed on the left foot of an English foal which was born in İzmit Jockey Club studform in 1995 was examined. The foal had two phalanxes and two nails rising from the distal part metacarpus of the left foot. M. ext dig communis was determined to be inserted on the dorsal aspect of the phalanx prima, and the m. flex, dig. prof., was inserted on phalanx tertia by passing trough the space between the metacarpus which was seperated into two parts.
Özet
Bu çalışmada 1995 yılında İzmit jokey kulüp harasında doğan bir ingiliz tayının sol ön ayağında görülen anomali incelendi. Tayın sol ön ayağının metacarpus'un distal'inden itibaren çift phalanx taşıdığı ve çift tırnaklı olduğu gözlendi. M. extensor digitalis communis'in phalanxprima'ların dorsal yüzüne ve m. flexor digitalis profundus'um ise ikiye ayrılan metacarpus'un distal'indeki aralıktan dorsal yüze geçerek phalanx tertia'lara yapıştığı saptandı.
