Abstract

This study was conducted to compare the suitability of BPSE and PBS extend¬ers to keep turkey semen at +5°C. 20 male and 60 female turkeys were used in the study. Semen were pooled and spermatological characteristics were determined. Then semen was divided into two by split-sample procedure. One part was extended with BPSE and the other with PBS. Motility and morphological examinations were carried out to each portion at dilution, at the moment that temperature reached +5°C (0th hour) and at 24th hour at +5°C, then females were inseminated artificially. Özet

Çalışma, hindi spermasını +5°C'de saklayabilmek amacıyla BPSE ve PBS sulandırıcılarının hangisinin üstün olduğunu belirlemek için yapıldı. Çalışmada 20 erkek ve 6 ayrı grupta barındırılan 60 dişi hindi kullanıldı. Sperma pooling yapıldıktan sonra taze olarak incelendi ve iki eşit kısma ayrıldı. Birinci kısım BPSE ile diğeri de PBS ile sulandırılarak, sulandırma sonrası, +5°C 'ye soğutulma anı (0. saat) ve +5°C 'de 24. saatte motilite ve morfolojik muayeneler yapıldı ve dişiler tohumlandı.
