Total quality management and its aims in success

Abstract

The firms that aim the superiority in competition should give the customers the products with appropriate quality level and appropriate price. They should be providing customer services after purchasing the product. Today, with the result of the quality controlling , the increase of the product quality is provided from the designing to the manufacturing. Total Quality Management (TQM) aims to provide the future expectations of both the customers and the manufacturers. Significant changes can be observed in the companies that use TQM. Increase in quality, increase in market share, decrease in costs, increase in efficiency and the develoment of customer satisfaction are some changes. The definition and the development of the TQM are given in this article. The differences between the traditional management and the TQM, the aims and the physiology, the aims of success in application are also given.

Rekabette üstünlük sağlamayı amaçlayan işletmeler; bu hedeflerine ulaşırken müşterilere yeterli kalite düzeyine sahip ürünleri uygun fiyatla sunmalı ve satış sonrası hizmetlere de önem vermelidir. Bugün Kalite Kontrol çalışmaları sonucunda tasarım aşamasından başlayarak üretim aşamasına kadar ürünün kalite düzeyinin yükselmesi sağlanmaktadır. Toplam Kalite Yönetimi ise gerek işletmeler ve gerekse kullanıcıların hem mevcut hem de gelecekteki beklentilerinin karşılanmasını amaçlamaktadır. Toplam Kalite Yönetimi'ni uygulayan işletmelerde gözle görülür değişiklikler yaşanır. Bu değişiklikler arasında; kalitenin artması, verimliliğin yükselmesi, maliyetin azalması, pazar payının artması ve müşteri memnuniyetinin gelişmesi sayılabilir. Bu makalede Toplam Kalite Yönetimi'nin tanımı yapılarak, gelişimi üzerinde durulmuştur. Geleneksel Yönetim ile Toplam Kalite Yönetimi arasındaki farklar irdelenmiş, amacı ve felsefesi, uygulamadaki başarı ilkeleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.
