Fossilization and microboring activity in Orbitoides accumulations from Osmaneli (Bilecik)

Abstract

Fine-graded sandstones of the upper part of Gölpazan Group outcroped widespreadly around Osmaneli (Bilecik) contain abundant Orbitoides. This study examines theirs fossilization and microboring activite observed within the Orbitoides tests. The investigation gives observations of the Orbitoides fossilization and associated fauna. It also discusses how the microactivity formed within the tests. Proofs show that microborings are related to a hermit type life and they were abundant within the elastics with rich fauna.

Özet

Osmaneli (Bilecik) yöresinde, Üst Kretase yaşlı Gölpazan Grubu'nun üst düzeylerini oluşturan ince taneli kırıntılar, bol oranlarda Orbitoides içerir. Bu çalışma, Orbitoides'ltnn fosilleşme özelliklerini ve kavkılarında gözlenen mikroiz aktivitcyi inceler. Araştırmada Orbitoides'lerin fosilleşme ve diğer organizmalar ile birliktelikleri hakkında gözlemler sunulmuş, kavkılarda değişik şekillerde görülen bu mikroizlerin nasıl gelişmiş olabilecekleri tartışılmıştır. Ayrıca, kavkılardaki mikroizlerin organizmaca zengin ortamlarda hermit tip bir yaşantının izleri olabileceği vurgulanmıştır.
