Abstract

Objective: It was thougt that addition of calcium dobesilate to therapywould have a beneficial influence on improving the symptoms in the patientswho e receive medication for acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT).Methods: A total of 88 patients with acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT)were evaluated between October 2010-2011. Patients were divided intotwo groups. In both groups, the patients were anticoagulated with onedose enoxaparine daily for ten days and then warfarin during 6 months.A total of 1.5 g/day calcium dobesilate was added to therapy which thepatients were given in group A. The patients who were in group B werefollowed with only anticoagulant treatment as a control group. All patientsin both groups were evaluated with physical examination and venous duplexultrasonography (VDU) in the second week, 1, 2 and 6 months afterdiagnosis of disease. Results: Subacute findings in VDU were seen in 24 patients in the secondweek, 16 in first month, 4 in the second month in group A, 28 them in thesecond week, 8 in the first month, 8 in the second month control in group B.Leg edema returned to normal limits in the 24 patients in the secondweek, 8 of them in the first month, 8 of them in the second month, 2 ofthem in the sixth month in group A, 25 in thesecond week, 8 in the firstmonth, 6 in the second month, 5 in the sixth month in group B. It was seenthat leg pain was reduced in 36patients in the second week, 8 in the firstmonth in group A, 30 in the second week, 14 in the first month in group B.Conclusion: Added therapy with calcium dobesilate contributes to improvingsymptoms in patients who have acute DVT.

Özet

Amaç: Akut derin venöz tromboz (DVT) hastalarının medikasyonuna kalsiyum dobesilatın eklenmesi ile semptomların gerilemesine yararlı etkilerinin olabileceği düşünüldü. Yöntemler: Ekim 2010-2011 tarihlerinde akut DVT tanısıyla 88 olgu değerlendirildi. Olgular iki grup halinde ayrıldı. Her iki gruba on günlük tek doz enoxaparin ve sonrasında coumadin verilerek altı ay süresince antikoagüle edildi. Bulgular: VDU'de grup A olguların 24'ü 2. haftada, 16'sı ilk ay, 4'ü 2. ay, grup B olguların 28'i 2. hafta, 8'i ilk ay, 8'i de 2. ay kontrolünde subakut dönem izlendi. Bacak ödemi, grup A olguların 26'sı 2. hafta, 8'i ilk ay, 8'i 2. ay ve 2 olgu da 6. ay kontrolünde normal sınırlara geriledi. Grup B olguların 25'i 2. hafta, 8'i ilk ay, 6'sı 2. ay ve 5 olgu da 6. ay kontrolünde normal sınırlara geriledi. Bacak ağrısı, grup A olguların 36'sı 2. hafta, 8'i ilk ay kontrolünde, grup B olguların 30'u 2. hafta, 14'ü ilk ay kontrolünde azaldı. Sonuç: Akut DVT olguların medikasyonuna kalsiyum dobesilat eklenmesi, semptomların gerilemesinde katkıda bulunmaktadır.
