Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the level of social appearanceanxiety and effects of acne severity on anxiety, depression andquality of life in patients with acne vulgaris.Methods: One hundred and fifty patients with acne vulgaris who werediagnosed at the dermatology outpatient clinic and 124 healthy controlswere included in the study. Both groups were asked to fill in a t sociodemographicinformation form, the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale (SAAS)and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Akne vulgarisin sosyal görünüş kaygı düzeyi üzerine etkisi ve akne şiddetinin anksiyete, depresyon ve yaşam kalitesi ile ilişkisinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Yöntemler: Akne vulgaris tanısı konulan 150 hasta ve 124 sağlıklı gönüllü çalışmaya alındı. Her iki gruba da sosyo-demografik bilgi formu, Sosyal Gö- rünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği (SGKÖ) ve Hastane Anksiyete Depresyon Ölçeği (HADÖ) uygulandı.
