A Case of Abdominal Pain: Rectus Sheath Hematoma

Abstract
Introduction: Abdominal pain is present in 5-10% of all patients presenting to emergency departments which constitutes a major part of the cases presenting to emergency departments. Rectus sheath hematoma is a rare cause of abdominal pain and is seen more frequently in elderly, and female patients. Material and Methods: One of the most important predisposing factors is anticoagulant treatment. Results: We presented here a case of a rectus sheath hematoma which is one of the rare causes of abdominal pain in the light of literature. Discussion and Conclusion: Rectus sheath hematoma should be considered in patients presenting to the emergency department.
Özet
Amaç: Acile başvuran hastaların %5-10'unda karın ağrısı yakınması olup, acil servis başvurularının önemli bir kısmını oluşturur. Rektus kılıf kanamaları nadir görülen karın ağrısı nedeni olup, yaşlı ve kadınlarda daha sık görülür. Gereç ve Yöntem: En önemli predispozan faktorlerden biri antikoagulan tedavidir. Bulgular: Bu makalede karın ağrısının nadir nedenlerinden olan rektus kılıf hematomu olgusunu literatür eşliğinde sunulmuştur Tartışma ve Sonuç: Rektus kılıf hematomu acil servise başvurularda akılda tutulmalıdır.
