Abstract

Superior mesenteric artery syndrome (Willkie's syndrome)is a rare cause of the duodenal obstruction in childhood.Rapid weight loss, spinal surgery in implementing bodycast, lying on back for too long, an abnormal position ofthe ligament of Treitz are predisposing factors for the etiologyof the syndrome caused by the changes of aortomesentericangle. The development of superior mesenteric artery syndrome ina pediatric patient with cerebral palsy who had vomitingepisodes for nearly a year has been reported due to rarityof this condition.

Özet

Süperior mezenter arter sendromu (Wilkie sendromu)çocukluk çağında duodenal obstrüksiyonun oldukça enderbir nedenidir. Aortomezenterik açı değişikliğinin yol açtığıbu sendromun etiyolojisi için hızlı ağırlık kaybı, spinalcerrahide vücut alçısı uygulanması, çok uzun süre sırtüstüyatmak, Treitz ligamentin anormal pozisyonu predispozanfaktörlerdir.Yaklaşık bir yıldır kusmaları olan serebral palsili çocukhastada süperior mezenter arter sendromu gelişmesi enderbir durum olması nedeniyle bildirilmiştir.
