THE MEANING AREA OF THE JAHELEYYA CONCEPT IN THE QURAN

Abstract

This study discusses the use of the word Jaheleyya which means (to ignore) in the classical dictionaries of the Arabic language, especially in the Qur’an and in the Arabic poetry. This study will examine the word’s derivatives and tried to analyze etymological by taking into account the new meanings of this concept. Moreover, the concept of Jaheleyya (ignorance) explained the different reflections of some narrations from the history (Hadith) which is considered as a kind of explanation of the Qur’an. The study discusses also the semantic differences between the new meanings of this concept and the different meanings between the words used in the Arabic language for the era of the Qur’an with the Qur’an’s point of view

Özet

Bu çalışma cehalet kavramının Kur’ân, klasik mucemler ve Arap şiirindeki kullanımlarını incelemektedir. Çalışmada bu kökten müştak kelimeler dilbilim ve etimolojik tahlil metodu ile ele alınarak tarihi süreçte kazandığı yeni manalar ortaya konulmuştur. Öte yandan Kur’ân’ınaçıklaması mesabesinde olan bazı rivayetlerde (hadîs-i şerîf) cehaletkavramının farklı kullanımları da aynı analiz metoduyla incelemeyedâhil edilmiştir. Yine kavramın Kur’ân’da kazandığı yeni anlamlar ileCâhiliyye dönemi Arap dilindeki manaları arasındaki anlam farklılıkları çalışmada irdelenen bir başka husustur.
