Abstract
Muʿtazilah is an example that draws attention with its intellectual tendencies in the tradition of Islamic thought and especially in the interpretations of history. In this article, the historical reality of the opinions of the religious groups that confronted with the movement of the historical knowledge which the author belongs to in the framework of Kitāb al-Taḫrīsh belonged to the Muʿtazilah school will be questioned. Ḍirār ibn al-ʿAmr’s (d. 200/815) intellectual/historian identity will be revealed. In addition, the possibility of objectivity in history will be examined in the light of the fact that every religious school history is exploited to establish its own legitimacy and that history is instrumentalized in this respect.
