Quranic Archeology as a New Method Suggestion in Understanding of the Quran

Abstract

This article establishes a link between the science of Archeology and the science of Quranic Interpretation (Tafseer) as a part of the works conducted for understanding the Quran and thus a new interdisciplinary approach for the interpretation of the Quran and archeological findings is tried to be set forth. The aim of the anticipated methodology proposal is to introduce a new approach as “Quranic Archeology” to enhance the understanding of the Quran by developing this field and the methodology. The subjects and scope of tafseer studies, their aims and goals, results and based on what sort of methodology these interpretations can be set forth in respect to Quranic Archaeology are assessed.

Bu makalede, Kur’an’ı anlama faaliyeti çerçevesinde Kur’an tefsiri ilmi ile arkeoloji bilimi biraraya getirilmekte ve böylece disiplinler arası çalışmaya dayalı yeni bir yöntem önerisi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmaktadır. Öngörülen yöntem önerisinin amacı, kısaca, Kur’an’ı anlamada yeni biryaklaşım önerisi olarak “Kur’ân Arkeolojisi” alanı ve metodunu geliştirmeye yönelik bir girişyapmaktır. Kur’an Arkeolojisi doğrultusunda tefsir araştırmalarının konusu ve kapsamı, amacı vehedefleri, sonuçları ve nasıl bir yönteme dayalı olarak ortaya konulabileceği ele alınmaktadır.
