A Study and Evaluation About Garîbu'l-Qur'an in the Commentary of Beydȃvî

Beydȃvî Tefsîri’nde Garîbu’l-Kur’ân Hakkında Bir Tetkȋk ve Değerlendirme

Abstract

One of the prominent issues in tafsir activities is Garîbu'l-Quran. Although this branch of science takes the interpretation of the garib words in the Quran as its subject, it has a very important position in tafsir activities. Garîbu'l-Quran is necessary for every expert dealing with the interpretation of the Quran and related disciplines. Beydâvî (d. 685/1286) who was popular in the field of tafsir is one of the most important scholars of his time and is a versatile commentator. We aimed to determine his tafsir understanding and his own acts and practices by examining his work titled Envâru't-Tenzîl and Esrâru't-Tevîl in terms of garib words. In this tafsir, comments, explanations and findings were made by Beydâvî by addressing to the concise and beneficial aspects without going into the detail of this subject like the other subjects. Beydâvî’s method and actions in his tafsir demonstrate how he has a grasp and knowledge on the field and that he is a significant commentator. In this work, which is a medium-volume, concise science treasure, we endeavored to put forward and explain short and generally prominent features and especially the actions related to the Garibu'l-Quran. In this commentary, methods such as benefiting from the richness of the language, the relationships among verses, the differences in recitation, rumor and news were followed in order to explain the "garib" words. In this context, we tried to reveal the issues such as the method of the author and how and in what way he did these, etc by determining and evaluating them.

Tefsir faaliyetlerinde öne çıkan meselelerden biri Garîbu’l-Kur’ân’dır. Bu bilim dalı Kur’ân’daki garip lafızların tefsirini kendine konu edinmekle birlikte tefsir faaliyetlerinde oldukça önemli bir yer tutar. Garîbu’l-Kur’ân, Kur’ân tefsiri ve ilgili disiplinlerle uğraşan her mütehassıs için gereklidir. Tefsir alanında şöhret sahibi olan Beydâvî (ö.685/1286) hem çok yönlü bir âlim hem de bu konuda oldukça yetkin bir müfessirdir. Onun Envâru’t-Tenzîl ve Esrâru’t-Tevîl adlı eserini garip lafızlar yönünden inceleyerek bu anlamda tefsir anlayışını ve kendine özgü tasarruflarını, uygulamalarını belirlemeyi plânladık. Bu tefsirde müellif diğer konularda olduğu gibi bu hususta da çok fazla derine inmemiş ve genellikle özlü ve faydalı yönler üzerinden giderek onlarla ilgili yorumlar, açıklamalar ortaya koymuştur. Beydâvî’nin tefsirinde izlediği usul ve yaptıkları onun ne denli ilmî vukûfiyete ve derin bir birikime sahip büyük bir müfessir olduğunu göstermektedir. Orta hacimli, özlü bir ilim hazinesi olan bu eserde kısa ve genel olarak öne çıkan özellikleri, bilhassa Garibu’l-Kur’ân’la alâkalı yapılanları ele alarak tespit etmek suretiyle izah etmeyi hedefledik. Bu tefsirde garip lafızların açıklanmasında dilin zenginliklerinden, âyetler arası ilişkilerden, kıraat farklılıklarından, rivâvet ve haberlerden yararlanılması gibi yöntemler izlenmiştir. Bu bağlamda müellifin usulünü ve bunları nasıl ve ne şekilde yaptığını vb. hususları belirlemek ve değerlendimek suretiyle ortaya koymaya çalıştık.
