Isolation of Gardnerella vaginalis from urine specimens and its susceptibility to antimicrobial agents

Abstract
A total of 125 urine samples from patients admitted to the microbiology laboratory were investigated for Gardnerella vaainalis by cultuvating on HBT (5 % human blood bilayer medium with Tween 80) medium in addition to routine media. G. vaainalis was isolated in 10 urine samples (8 %). The antibiotic susceptibility patterns of the isolates were evaluated by disk diffusion method.
Özet
Mikrobiyoloji laboratuvarına başvuran 125 hastanın idrar örnekleri rutin besiyerlerinin yanısıra HBT agar'a ekilerek Gardnerella vaginalis yönünden incelendi. Onörnekte (% 8) G. vaainalis ürediği gözlendi. İzole edilen suşlarm antimikrobiklere duyarlığı disk difüzyon yöntemiyle incelendi.
