Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis infection in pregnants. Cervical ÇL trachomatis infection was investigated with ELISA in 149 pregnant women. The patients were grouped according to their genitourinary sign and symptoms. Sixteen samples out of 95 (16.8%) from symptomatic patients and three samples out of 54 asymptomatic women (5.6%) were positive for C. trachomatis antigen. The overall positivity rate was 12.8%. There were no statistically significant differences for C. trachomatis antigen between patients who were at different stages of pregnancy.
