Abstract

Cytomegalovirus (CMV), is a common viral pathogen responsible for serious opportunistic infections in patients with AIDS. The most common infections due to CMV are retinitis and gastrointestinal tract infections. The virus frequently causes colitis in the gastrointestinal tract. In this paper, a 68-year-old male patient with HIV infection and CMV colitis, diagnosed with difficulty due to advanced age, is presented.
