Abstract
Actinomycosis is a suppurative chronic infectious disease caused by Actinomyces spp., most commonly affecting the cervicofacial area. It is rare in children. A 12-year-old girl presented with a left preauricuiar painful mass. She had undergone an adenoidectomy one year ago. Radiologic and microbiologic investigations were not diagnostic. Histopathologic evaluation demonstrated inflammatory granulation tissue with abundant actinomyces conglomeration. Cervicofacial actinomycosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cervicofacial masses.
