Abstract

Cryptococcosis is a sporadical, systemic infection caused by the yeastlike fungus Cryptococcus neoformans. Cryptococcosis is a rare infection in non-immunucompromised individuals. Although no marked immune defect was detected in a 45-year-old male patient, he developed disseminated cryptococcosis. Amphotericin B and fluconazole were used for treatment, but very slow improvement was achieved. At the end of one year-follow up period, all neurologic defects except visual loss were completely resolved.
