Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the seroprevalance of brucellosis in the adolescent and adult population in Yazir Village, Kocasinan, Kayseri. The villagers earned their living with stockbreeding. Rose Bengal Slide Test (RBPT) and Standart Tube Agglutination Test (STAT) were used for investigating brucella antibodies. Among all the 211 persons Brucella antibodies were detected in 29 (13.7%) with STAT and 31 (14.6%) with RBPT. In 27 cases both STAT and RBP tests, in 4 cases only RBPT, and 2 cases only STAT were found positive.

Özet

Büyük oranda hayvancılıkla geçinen Kayseri Kocasinan Yazır Köyü 15 yaş ve üzeri halkında bruselloz seroprevalansının saptanması amaçlandı. Çalışmada Rose-Bengal Plak Test (RBPT) ve Standart Tüp Aglütinasyon Testi (STAT) ile antikor arandı. İncelenen 211 bireyden STAT ile 29 (%13.7) olguda, RBPT ile de 31 (%14.6) olguda seropozitiflik belirlendi. Olguların 27'sinde RBPT ve STAT olumlu bulunurken, dördünde sadece RBPT, ikisinde ise sadece STAT pozitifti.
