Developing a Perceived Family Support Scale for Musical Instrument Education

Çalgı Eğitiminde Algılanan Aile Desteği Ölçeği Geliştirme Çalışması

Abstract

The present study aims to develop a valid and reliable scale in order to determine the prospective music teachers’ perceived family support for musical instrument education. The exploratory factor analysis revealed that the scale contained 23 items loaded under two sub-scales. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients for the sub-scales were as follows: for “sensivity” 0. 93, 0. 92 for “involvement”. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients for the whole scale was found .96. The confirmatory factor analysis, which followed the exploratory factor analysis, tested the two-factor structure and confirmed that the model had considerably decent goodness-of-fit indices. The findings suggest that The Scale of Perceived Family Support for Musical Instrument Education can be used for measuring prospective music teachers’ perceived family support for musical instrument education in a valid and reliable manner.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, müzik öğretmeni adaylarının çalgı eğitiminde algıladıkları aile desteğini belirlemedekullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizisonucunda ölçeğin 23 madde ve 2 alt boyuta sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin alt boyutlarının CronbachAlfa değerleri sırasıyla; “duyarlılık” . 93, “sürece dahil olma” . 92 dir. Ölçeğin bütününü Cronbach Alfa değeri.96’dır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizinin ardından doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır ve modelin kabul edilebiliruyum indekslerine sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular, Çalgı Eğitiminde AlgılananAile Desteği Ölçeği’nin müzik öğretmeni adaylarının çalgı eğitiminde algıladıkları aile desteğini belirlemedekullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
