Investigating the Effect of Social Change on Values Based on Social Studies Teachers’ Views

Sosyal Değişmenin Değerler Üzerindeki Etkisine Yönelik Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenlerinin Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal the opinions of Social Studies teachers about the relationship between social change and values. The qualitative model was used because of the opinions of teachers about the effect of social change on values. In this direction, phenomenology pattern was used in the research. Open-ended interview questions consisting of 4 items, which were prepared for the purpose of examining the opinions of Social Studies teachers on the effects of social change on values, were used as data collection tool. The study group of the study consisted of 20 teachers who were chosen in different ways and in different state schools according to the maximum diversity sampling within the purposive sampling method. As a result of the study, social studies teachers emphasized that the effect of social change on values is negative.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin sosyal değişme ve değerler arasındaki ilişkikonusunda görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin sosyal değişmenin değerlerüzerindeki etkisine yönelik görüşleri incelendiği için nitel model kullanılmıştır. Bu doğrultudaaraştırmada olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin sosyal değişmenin değerlerüzerindeki etkisine yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesi amacıyla hazırlanan 4 maddeden oluşan açık uçlugörüşme soruları veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu amaçlıörnekleme yöntemi içerisinde yer alan maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesine göre seçilmiş farklı ilerde vefarklı devlet okullarında çalışan kadın ve erkeklerden oluşan 20 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmasonucunda sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri sosyal değişimin değerler üzerindeki etkisinin olumsuz olduğunuvurgulamışlardır.
