Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ethnomathematics-based Riau traditional game in developingmathematical connection skills of elementary school students through Pacu Jalur game. This study used arealist ethnography type of a qualitative research approach to 64 students of the fifth grade elementaryschool. The data are shown by descriptive narrative with data sources using purposive sampling methods onstudents who have good, medium, and low abilities, and teachers who teach mathematics. The results showedthat Pacu Jalur game can be used in mathematics learning by teachers as learning and cultural agents todevelop mathematical connection abilities of elementary school students. This is because usingethnomathematics learning becomes more interesting and meaningful for students, especially in geometryconcepts of tube.
