Abstract
This study examines the assylum status of Swedish King Charles XII, who took refuge in the Ottoman Empire after he lost the Battle of Poltava (1709) against the Russian Empire, and argues that because the king intervened to prevent an Ottoman-Russian peace he was first relocated and later sent back to Sweden.
Özet
Bu çalışma 1709 Poltova Savaşı'nda Ruslara yenilmesinin ardından Osmanlı Devleti'ne sığınan İsveç Kralı XII.Şarl'ın Osmanlı Devleti'ndeki durumunu inceleyerek, kralın Osmanlı-Rus barışını engellemek için çaba göstermesinden dolayı yerinin değiştirildiğini ve akabinde memleketine gönderildiğini tespit etmektedir.
