Abstract

This study examines the impact of political developments in Syria on the southern front of Turkish Independence War along with the Ankara government's policy on Syria. The article presents that the Ankara government's policy on Syria not only helped to save southeastern Anatolian cities from French invasion but also brought Syrian Arabs in a position to seek a Turkish mandate instead of the French one

Bu çalışmada Milli Mücadele yıllarında Suriye'de meydana gelen gelişmelerin Güney cephesini nasıl etkilediği ve Ankara Hükümeti'nin Suriye'deki bu gelişmeler karşısında nasıl bir siyaset izlediği incelenmektedir. Makale izlenen bu siyasetin sonucu olarak hem Anadolu'nun güney illerinin Fransız işgalinden kurtarıldığını hem de Suriyeli Arapların Fransız mandası yerine Türk mandası isteyecek konuma geldiklerini tespit etmektedir
