Abstract
According to the administrative division, Mecitozu is a district of Çorum. It is located at to the north of Merzifon, west of Çorum, south of Ortaköy and east of Amasya. Alören Village is about 8 km to the northwest of Mecitözü. Our complex is located in the center of village which is a sloping lands from the northeast to the southwest. This unobtrusive complex, which is mainly dominated by the mosque, consists of a fountain in the north-east, a yunak in the north, and a pool in the northwest. Yunak has been demolished recently. In addition, arsana, where wheat is turned into wheat, and dibek taşı located in the northeast of the fountain complex is attracting attention as a complementary cultural heritage. Although the date of construction is not known, it is understood that the mosque was built in the late 19th century on the basis of its phrase above the minaret gate and architectural features. The mosque is a rectangular plan with a flat wooden roof and a roof with a single minaret. Unfortunately, the yunak, which we determined to have been used until recently, has not survived. Although the fountain and pool are completely showing features of the 20th century, the combination of mosque, yunak, fountain, pool, arsana and dibek taşı is one of the important elements that reveal the sociocultural structure of the village. Mosque, plan and architectural features show the characteristics of the period. It also has a special importance in terms of having a dense ornament program that enters Anatolian Turkish art of painting along with the Westernization period. In our study, it was aimed to examine each work in detail and to evaluate its importance in all aspects and to determine its place and importance in Anatolian Turkish architecture.
