The impact of endometriosis on pregnancy rate in ICSI cycles

Abstract
In this study we aimed to analyze ICSI cycle parameters, including pregnancy rates in women with and without endometrisis (control group) and to evaluate the effect of the stage of endometriosis. Retrospective analysis of 123 patients, 51 in women with and 72 without endometriosis was done. The endometriosis group was further subdivided according to the stage of the disease. Number of > 15 mm follicle and mature oocyte in endometriosis group were less than in control group. There was no difference transfered embryos, fertilization, cleavage and pregnancy rates between groups. However, miscarriage rate of endometriosis group was higher than in control cycles. The study confirms previous reports that ICSI success rates are comparable in women with and without endometriosis.
Özet
Bu çalışmada ICSI uygulanan endometriosis olan ve olmayan (kontrol grup) hastalardaki gebelik oranını da içeren siklus sonuçlarını ve endometriosis evrelerinin etkisini karşılaştırmayı amaçladık. Retrospektif yapılan bu çalışmada toplam 123 hasta (endometriosis olan 51 ve olmayan 72 olgu) değerlendirildi. Endometriosis grubu evrelerine göre tekrar 4 gruba ayrıldı.Endometriosis grubunda 15 mm den büyük folikül ve toplanan matür oosit sayısı konrol grubundan daha düşük bulundu.Her iki hasta grubu arasında transfer edilen embriyo sayısı, klivaj ve fertilizasyon oranı, transfer ve siklus başına düşen gebelik oranı benzerdi.Buna rağmen endometriosis grubunda erken gebelik kaybı daha yüksek oranda saptandı.Bu çalışma endometriosisin ICSI sikluslarmda gebelik oranlarını etkilemediğini, ancak erken gebelik kayıplarının fazla olduğunu göstermiştir.
