Abstract
After the attacks of September 11, President Bush suggested a project with the name „Broader Middle East Project‟. Within the framework of that project, the President Bush claimed that the Great Middle Eastern countries would be encouraged to have peaceful and democratic regimes. Within this frame, while the United States intervened into the domestic affairs of Iraq, they supported the public rebellions in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine, they propped up the Hamas government in Paletsine and encouraged the political reforms in the Middle Eastern countries. But the President Bush could not get a favourable result. Instead he has got some unfavourable results (such as an increase in the competition among the great powers, the increasing problems of democratisation, the risk of civil war and insufficiency of military methods in fighting against terrorism).
