Abstract

Examining the post-revolutionary situation of translation in Iran reveals the social condition of Iran and the position of source literature in Persian literature. Upon collecting the data related to the translated Turkish literature, the position of Turkish literature in Iran and the post-revolutionary social conditions were examined. The results have indicated that the number of Turkish translated literature, especially after 1380s, has increased. However, translators and professors of Turkish literature and language believe that the number of translated Turkish literature is very low. In addition, the results showed that the prevailing translation strategy after Islamic revolution has been in the process of naturalization and localization. In fact, translated Turkish literature was not innovatory; on the contrary, target literature was mostly conservative. As a result, stereotyped patterns and models were repeated. Translated Turkish literature has been audited for a long time after Islamic Revolution. In other words, the target literature has minimized the foreignness of the translated text and reduced the foreign cultural norms to target-language cultural norms in orderto protect and fortify them.
