The ultrastructure of dental tissues in dentinogenesis imperfecta type II: A SEM evaluation

Dentinogenezis imperfekta tip II bir olguda diş yapılarının SEM (Tarama Elektron Mikroskop) incelemesi

Abstract

Dentinogenesis imperfecta (DI) is a primary disease of dentin itself. DI Type II has essentially the same clinical, radiographic and histopathologic features as DI Type I. The separate entity are; none of the findings of osteogenesis imperfecta, family correlation, high attrition and severely affected deciduous teeth. The histology and ultrastructure of primary and permanent teeth of a patient with DI Type II associated with a mesiodens was examined in this study. The primary and permanent teeth of the patient and a sound primary molar of another patient was examined under SEM. Irregular dentine tubule orifices and fissures around tubules was determined in affected primary and permanent molars. Fracturing and irregularity zones around dentinoenamel junction was also observed in the DI tooth.

Özet

Dentinogenezis Imperfekta (DI) dentin dokusunun bir hastalığıdır. DI Tip II olgularında genellikle klinik, radyolojik ve histopatolojik bulgular DI Tip I'e benzerlik gösterir. Ayırıcı tanı Tip II olgularında osteogenezis imperfektanın bulunmaması , herediter olması, aşırı atrizyon ve süt dişlerinin etkilenmesi ile konur. Bu çalışmada, DI Tip II olgusunun süt ve daimi azı dişleri ve, karşılaştırma amacı ile sağlıklı bireyden elde edilen süt azı dişi SEM'de incelenmiştir. Etkilenen süt ve daimi dişlerde irregüler dentin yapısı, tübül ağızlarının düzensizliği ve minedentin birleşim yerindeki düzensizlik dikkati çekmiştir. Bu yapısal değişikliklere bağlı olarak bu bölgelerde minede kırılmalar görülmüştür.
