Abstract

Finishing and polishing are important factors related to the clinical longevity of restorations. This study was designed to inuestigate the effects of three different finishing and polishing systems on four restorative materials. 48 disc specimens were prepared from four materials used for esthetic restoration; composite resin (POINT 4) compomer (COMPOGLASS F), traditional (MEDIFIL) and resin-modified glass ionomer (FUJI II LC). Bitirme ve parlatma yapılan restorasyonun ömrünün uzatılmasında önemli bir etkendir. Bu çalışmada üç farklı bitirme ve parlatma işlemlerinin dört restoratif materyallerdeki etkisi karşılaştırıldı. Estetik restorasyonlarda kullanılan dört materyalden; kompozit (POINT 4), kompomer (COMPOGLASS F), geleneksel (MEDIFIL) ve rezin modifiye cam iyonomer simanlar (FUJI II LC) test edilmek için 48 disk hazırlandı. Örneklerin bitirme ve parlatması 4 ayrı metod kullanılarak yapıldı; şeffaf bant, Sof-Lex diskleri, Enhance sistemi, Astropol sistemi. Yüzey düzgünlükleri profilometreyle değerlendirildi. Yapılan istatistiksel değerlendirmede kompozit ve kompomerin yüzey pürüzlülüğünde önemli fark bulunamadı (p>0.05).
