EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS AND PARENTS WHO PREFER IMAMHATIP HIGH SCHOOLS AND LEVEL OF SATISFACTION OF THESE EXPECTATIONS

Abstract

Imam Hatip High Schools, which has been discussed with its various aspects since its establishment, is one of our institutions that should be handled and developed with the aspects that will serve its goals to raise the generations with national, religious and moral values in accordance with its establishment purposes. It will be possible to succeed in this by considering Imam Hatip High Schools in terms of education, apart from vicious daily discussions. The thoughts of the students and the parents, which are the most important components of education, are important in terms of making sense of the work done. In our study, we have tried to determine the students and the parents’ expectations who choose Imam Hatip High Schools in the district of Pendik of the province of Istanbul in particular about their schools and what extent these expectations are met by their interlocutors with various aspects. In the study, descriptive scanning model was used in collecting and analyzing the opinions of the students and the parents. The sample of our study consists of 598 students and 67 parents of the students studying in Imam-Hatip High Schools in the district of Pendik of the province of Istanbul. It had been benefited from Korkmaz and Cınar's research in the collection of research data, apart from the personal information form. The results of the research are as follows: It includes high expectations of students about the general structure of the school, administrators and teachers' approach to themselves, learning environments and the physical condition of the school. They also think that expectations can be met at a moderate level. The parents had stated that their expectations were met at a high level compared to the students

Kuruldukları günden itibaren çeşitli yönleriyle tartışılan İmam-HatiplerLiseleri, kuruluş amaçlarına uygun milli, dini ve ahlaki değerlere sahip nesillerinyetiştirilmesi için yüklenilen hedeflerine hizmet edecek yönleriyle ele alınıpgeliştirilmesi gereken kurumlarımızdandır. Bunu başarabilmek de İmam-HatipLiselerini gündelik kısır tartışmaların dışında, eğitim açısından ele almaklamümkün olacaktır. Eğitimin en önemli unsurlarından olan öğrenci ve velilerindüşünceleri yapılan işi anlamlandırabilmek açısından önemlidir. Araştırmamızdaİstanbul ili Pendik ilçesi özelinde İmam-Hatip Lisesini tercih eden öğrenci vevelilerinin okullarıyla ilgili ne tür beklentiler içerisinde olduklarını ve bubeklentilerin muhataplarınca ne ölçüde karşılandığını çeşitli yönleriyle tespitetmeye çalıştık. Araştırmada öğrenci ve velilerin görüşlerini toplamada ve analizedilmesinde betimsel tarama modelinden istifade edilmiştir. Araştırmamızınörneklemini İstanbul ili, Pendik ilçesinde bulunan İmam-Hatip Liseleri’nde eğitimgören 598 öğrenci ve 67 öğrenci velisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinintoplanmasında kişisel bilgi formunun dışında Korkmaz ve Çınar’ınaraştırmalarından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda ortaya çıkan sonuçlarşunlardır: Öğrencilerin okulun genel yapısı, idareci ve öğretmenlerin kendilerineyaklaşımları, öğrenme ortamları ve okulun fiziki durumuyla ilgili yüksek düzeydebeklentileri bulunmaktadır. Öğrenciler bu beklentilerinin orta düzeydekarşılanabildiğini düşünmektedirler. Veliler ise öğrencilere nazaran beklentilerininyüksek düzeyde karşılandığını belirtmişlerdir.
