A case of ectopic pregnancy terminated in 3 months after diagnosis; A rare history of cornual pregnancy: A case report

Abstract

Cornual (interstitial) ectopic pregnancy is a rare type of ectopicpregnancy, with a high rates of morbidity and mortality,which is frequently hard to be diagnosed and treated. So; wereported a female patient presented to our hospital with persistentlyhigher levels of ?-hCG for 3 months. The patient, withthe suspicion of cornual ectopic pregnancy, was operated followingexamination and evaluation 3 months after her first presentation.Perioperative diagnosis verified preoperative diagnosis.A right cornual resection + right salpingo-ovariectomy+ left tubal ligation was performed. Thus, relatively early, andaccurate initial diagnosis and consequent surgical treatmentsaved the patient from uterine rupture and maybe death whichmight occur unexpectedly at any time, and anywhere.

Özet

Kornual (interstisyel) dış gebelik, çoğunlukla klinisyen için tanısı ve tedavisi zor olan, ektopik gebeliğin ender görülen, morbiditesi ve mortalitesi çok daha yüksek olan bir formudur. Biz de, bu doğrultuda, yaklaşık 3 aydır düşmeyen ?-hCG değerleri nedeniyle hastanemize defalarca başvuran kadın hastayı yayınladık. Hasta, muayene ve değerlendirme sonrası kornual gebelik şüphesiyle ilk başvurusundan 3 ay sonra operasyona alındı. Perioperatif tanı, preoperatif tanıyı doğruladı. Sağ kornual rezeksiyon + sağ salpingooferektomi + sol tüp bağlanması yapıldı. Böylece; görece erken, doğru ön tanı ve ardından cerrahi tedavi sonrası, hasta herhangi bir yerde ve herhangi bir zamanda beklenmedik bir şekilde gelişebilecek uterin rüptür ve belki de ölümden kurtarılmış oldu.
