History in Andalusia and the Andalusian Historians according to Kahhale

Abstract

In this article, short biographies and works of the Andalusian historians were compiled in chronological order based on Kahhale’s book. The purpose of this article is to give a concrete example concerning the very frequently emphasized level of Islamic science and culture reached in Andalusia. At the beginning fed from of the East-source Andalusian historicism has become self-sufficient without travel to the East and have grown historians from their environments. Another factor which was active in the development of historiography in Andalusia is that the political power devoted huge budgets to science even in the most troubled periods. In this context, the foremost hardship of the scientific circle in Andalusia is that the “brain drain” phenomenon which the Islamic world is experiencing today has been heavily experienced in the vicinity of the Andalusian culture. For the historians who went to the East did not return their country.

Özet

Bu makalede Endülüslü tarihçiler kısa biyografileri ve eserleri ile beraber kronolojik olarak Kehhâle’nin eseri baz alınarak derlenmiştir. Makalenin amacı; söylem olarak sık sık vurgulanan Endülüs’teki İslâm ilim ve kültür seviyesinin ulaştığı seviyeye müşahhas bir örnek vermektir. Başlangıçta Doğu kaynaklı beslenen Endülüs tarihçiliği zamanla kendi kendine yeter hale gelmiş, artık Doğuya seyahat yapılmaksızın da kendi ilim çevresinden yetişen tarihçiler çıkmıştır. Endülüs’te tarihçiliğin gelişmesinde etkin olan bir diğer önemli husus da; siyasî erklerin en sıkıntılı dönemlerinde dahi, ilme büyük bütçeler ayırmış olmalarıdır. Endülüs ilim dünyasının en başta gelen sıkıntısı ise; günümüzde İslâm dünyasının yaşadığı “beyin göçü” olgusunun Endülüs kültür çevresinde yoğun bir şekilde yaşanmış olmasıdır. Zira doğuya giden birçok tarihçi geri dönmemiştir
