Abstract
Hydrogen is a fuel with a large spectrum of applications in our daily life. It can be used simply for house and office heating as well as a fuel in space crafts. It is environmentally friendly. In the form of gas hydrogen requires a large volume of tank. It boils at 0 °C, and when liquidize its density can increase 845 times. For liquidation, it requires a very low temperature of -253 °C, Its direct use in the form of gas or liquid is very difficult due to the storage problems. Alternative methods such as sodium borohydride and MTH (metilsiklohekzan, toluen, hidrogen) have been developed to overcome these problems. Basic principle of these techniques is to obtain inexpensive compounds by simple reactions to free the hydrogen as fuel. Further research is continuing in this area. In this study alternative storage methods are reviewed to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of the techniques.
