Abstract
This research was conducted using 32 sedentary male high school students ranging in age from 16 to 18. The subjects were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group at 16 persons each. While at high altitude the subjects in the experimental group were put into a intensive interval exercise program and the control group continued with their normal daily routine. In this study in order to determine the effect of altitude we have taken measurements on some physiological parameters for both groups such as resting heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and concentration of hemoglobin at high altitude and some measurements have been repeated at low altitude as well. Statistical analysis ( t – test calculation ), was computer with SPSS packet program, loaded in IBM Pentium 450 trade mark computer. As a result of this research, while on increase in weight ( % 0,69 ; p < .001), and hemoglobin concentration ( % 1,10 ; p < .001) valves was observed, a decrease in resting heart rate ( % 2,14 ; p < .01), systolic blood pressure ( 0,10 ; p < .001), diastolic blood pressure ( % 0,63 ; p < .001) was determined through measurements of control group. While first and last measurements performed on the experimental group showed a decrease in weight ( % 2,11 ; p < .001), resting heart rate ( % 4,64 ; p < .001), systolic ( % 6,30 ; p < .001) and diastolic ( % 2,96 ; p < .001) blood pressure valves ; on increase in hemoglobin concentration ( % 9,19 ; p < .01) valves, was observed.
